AI-Powered Linux Distribution
An operating system that combines the power of Linux with local artificial intelligence. A conversational, coherent and private experience — everything runs on your hardware.
Skorpion OS was born from a simple but ambitious idea: artificial intelligence should not be a separate tool, but act as the user's butler, handling their every need.
Every application, every terminal, every search — once the project is complete, everything will communicate with a single local AI model based on Ollama, without sending data to external servers. Your privacy and your data remain untouched on your PC.
The project is developed by Enrico Miot (EndrX), with the vision of creating an OS that teaches beginners and empowers experts.
Artificial intelligence is an integral part of the system but can also be removed with a single click.
Dedicated plugins for text editors, browsers and the terminal. Every tool designed for its purpose.
The AI model runs entirely on your hardware via Ollama. No data ever leaves your computer.
Talk to your OS in natural language, as if you were speaking with an expert always at hand.
Solid foundations with Debian Linux. Stable, compatible and with a vast package ecosystem.
Open and modifiable code. Contribute, customize, or adapt Skorpion OS to your needs.
Text editor — autocorrects, summarizes, generates text from your ideas. Like having a co-writer always available.
AI Browser — a search engine that understands natural language, communicates with external sources (DuckDuckGo API), and returns contextual results.
Smart file manager — type in natural language what you want to do in the terminal. The AI translates it into commands, asks for confirmation and creates/moves files and folders.
The heart of Skorpion OS is a centralized AI model with persistent memory shared across all applications.
When you write a fantasy novel in LibreOffice, the browser already "knows" what your document is about. When you need to search for information related to the book, the model already has the full context of the entire book.
Every interaction enriches the context. The model evolves with you, adapting to your habits and needs.
See how SKAI's shared memory transforms your everyday experience.
You're working on a fantasy novel with wizards and spells in LibreOffice Writer. SKAI memorizes the document's context.
Open Firefox and ask the SKAI extension: "Find me information about the novel" — without specifying anything else.
SKAI understands you're talking about fantasy magic thanks to shared memory, and brings you relevant sources integrated into the page.
No worries. Skorpion OS guides you step by step. You can write what you want to do in natural language and the AI takes care of the rest, explaining every step.
Skorpion OS won't slow you down. You have full access to the system, can bypass the AI whenever you want, and use it as an accelerator for repetitive tasks or quick documentation.
Skorpion OS is designed to run on modern hardware. The local AI model requires adequate resources.
Follow these steps to install Skorpion OS on your computer.
Download the Skorpion OS ISO image from the official repository on Mega.
Write the ISO to a USB drive with Balena Etcher, Rufus, or Ventoy.
Insert the USB drive, enter the BIOS/UEFI and set the boot from USB. Skorpion OS will start in live mode from the USB.
Launch the Calamares graphical installer via the launcher and configure the system through the setup wizard, or test it without deleting your files.
Remove the USB drive and reboot. On the first boot, the SKAI wizard will launch and install Ollama and download the AI model.
After the first boot run in the terminal sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade — or ask SKAI how to update.
Skorpion OS is a growing project. Every contribution — code, ideas, testing — makes a difference. Join the community and help build the future of Linux.
Contribute to the code, report bugs, propose features and follow development in real time.

Every Tuesday evening you can find Enrico at the Pordenone Linux User Group for direct support, questions and conversations about Skorpion OS and Linux.
"This operating system is constantly evolving. I would be very happy if more people joined the project."
Like most successful projects, it requires building a team of developers, not a single developer. I'm waiting for you.
